Scale Inhibitors The Ciba® ANTIPREX® range of scale inhibitors is used to prevent calcium carbonate and calcium sulphate scale formation in process lines and equipment. The products are effective at sub-stoichiometric dose levels and work by the mechanisms of threshold effect and crystal distortion.

A typical example of their effectiveness is in heap leaching of gold, where highly limed solutions and slurries have a tendency to precipitate carbonate scale in drip nozzles and around the extraction circuit. Ciba® ANTIPREX® products are economically effective at preventing this scale formation.

The Ciba® ANTIPREX® range is designed to give optimum performance. It includes general purpose scale inhibitors, specialist polymers to prevent barium and strontium scale and high activity products for use in formulations.
