Viscosifiers/Shale Inhibitors/Friction Reducers
These products are available in three physical forms powder, high activity liquid dispersion and inverse emulsion. Ciba® ALCOMER® RD polymers are shale inhibitors that are designed to be easily dispersed and give homogeneous solutions in situations where the ideal make-up equipment is not available.

Bentonite Extenders
A selection of products are provided for use as bentonite extenders. Other specialist polymers are available which will reduce hydraulic conductivity when mixed with bentonite.

Fluid Loss Additives
Ciba offers fluid loss control polymers for freshwater and high temperature/high salinity drilling situations.

Thinners
Ciba® ALCOMER®  thinners are especially temperature tolerant and will prevent progressive mud gelling.  They are also effective over a wide range of pH.

Flocculants
