1985            Ciba-Geigy Australia Victorian facility transferred its location from Preston
                    to Thomastown, Melbourne

1988            Masterbatch production was consolidated at the Wetherill Park site in NSW

1990            Plastic Additives compaction plant was built in Thomastown, Victoria

1996            Following the spin-off of the specialty chemicals business from Novartis,
                   Pentex Australia Pty Limited, formerly a subsidiary of Ciba-Geigy Australia,
                   changed its name to Ciba Specialty Chemicals Pty Limited

                   The Australian Business Unit Masterbatch previously operated as an
                   independent company (although wholly owned by Ciba Geigy)

                   Kwinana, Perth commenced its operations as Imdex Chemicals

1997            Imdex Chemicals was acquired by Allied Colloids Australia

                   Gladesville, New South Wales was set up to provide technical services and
                   sales for the Consumer Care division

1998            Allied Colloids Plc was acquired by Ciba. In Australia, Allied Colloids (Australia)
                   Pty Limited was acquired by Ciba’s Australian subsidiary (Ciba Specialty
                   Chemicals Pty Limited). Ciba also took over the Wyong facility, which was
                   Allied Colloids Australia's head office.

2006            Sale of Masterbatch business in Australia and New Zealand to a privately
                   owned Australian company, Acquos.

                   Completed agreed sale of the Textile Effects Segment to Huntsman Corporation
                   on 30 June.
